Leonard M. Epps

President, Brother Carl Hardrick Institute

When we think about the violence that is happening in our city, state, nation, and world, it is easy to get frustrated and feel a sense of helplessness. The question that needs to be asked is, “What is it that is keeping the majority of Hartford residents from resorting to violence?” That is the questions that we need to focus on.  How can we celebrate those positive decisions and help others make better choices daily?  That is what I believe the Brother Carl Hardrick Institute is designed to do. Find and teach the strategies that keep us from going over the edge and build a community that is worthy of peace and respect. We all have a role to play in this process. Let’s learn and work together so that we can be the example of hope for future generations.

Peace,
Leonard Epps
